UT-128

This small backroad heads south from I-70. For the first bit, the road is typical high desert rangeland. Soon, however, it drops into the Colorado River valley. The road follows the river so closely that it seems as if a person in the passenger seat could hold a rock out the window and simply drop it in the water.

Each bend in the river and the road presents new and majestic views of high blood-red cliffs. When the La Sal Mountains appear in the background, photo stop is called for.
